LA FESTA ARTUSIANA - FORLIMPOPOLI
Thanks to the Artusiana Festival, Forlimpopoli pays homage to its most famous fellow citizen, Pellegrino Artusi, recognized not only as the undisputed father of modern Italian cuisine, but also as a great popularizer of the national language. His famous manual, "Science in the kitchen and the art of eating well", is considered an important tool that contributed to forming the cultural identity and unification, both gastronomic and linguistic, of our country.
The Festival offers the ever-increasing number of visitors a program full of gastronomic offerings, themed tastings, musical and theatrical performances, exhibitions, meetings and cultural insights capable of satisfying even the most demanding 'palates'.
Every evening the historic center dominated by the imposing fourteenth-century fortress is transformed into a 'city to taste' in which courtyards, alleys, streets and squares are renamed according to the chapters of the Artusian manual. And, as is now tradition, the "Artusi Award" and the "Marietta ad honorem Award" are awarded to well-known people.
For nine evenings Forlimpopoli becomes the capital of 'eating well' thanks also to the collaboration with Casa Artusi, the first gastronomic culture center in Italy dedicated to domestic cooking.
