The flooded barrier of Riccione

The sea of Riccione hides a treasure, the suffocated barrier.

This project nesce to reduce coastal erosion.

The man-made barrier has permeable layers designed to defend the coast and marine habitat.

Over the years, it has become a marine colony for fish and molluscs, who have chosen this place as their home and host the typical marine species of the Adriatic.

To this day, the reef is an artificial oasis, a perfect tourist destination for lovers of underwater walks.
