Inside we can see masterpieces of art from churches and convents in the area, such as: "San Girolamo in the desert" by Paolo Veronese and the "Madonna and child enthroned between angels and saints" by Giovanni Bellini.

Palazzo Giustinian houses the Glass Museum, here it is possible to admire wonderful Venetian glass, from the fourteenth century to today.



BASILICA OF SANTA MARIA AND DONATO - the Cathedral of Murano

This ancient building is one of the greatest examples of Venetian-Byzantine style on the island of Murano.
Fascinating is the mosaic on the floor dated 1140 with figures of peacocks, eagles and many other types of animals.



GLASS AND THE HISTORY OF THE ISLAND OF MURANO

At the end of the fifth century, Murano was colonized following the barbarian invasions. The first economic activities of the island were centered on fishing and the salt trade.



THE TRADITION OF GLASS IN MURANO

Blown glass is the oldest and most important art practiced in the lagoon, and for hundreds of years it was one of the most important commercial industries of the Republic of Venice.

GLASS COMET

It was created by Simone Cenedese, a Venetian artist residing in Murano. This work stands out on the road for its very intense cobalt blue.
