MARRACASH
Marracash, pseudonym of Fabio Bartolo Rizzo, is an Italian rapper. Born in Nicosia, Sicily, to a school assistant mother and a truck driver father and has a younger brother, the family later moved to Milan, in the suburb of Barona. Having obtained his diploma as an electronic expert, Marracash records his first stanzas under the pseudonym Juza delle Nuvole, appearing in the 1999 demo The Royal Rumble by Prodigio, alongside Jake La Furia, Gué Pequeno, Vincenzo da Via Anfossi and Dargen D ' Friend. The stage name Marracash was definitively adopted by the artist because as a child, being Sicilian and having a well-marked face, the other children called him "Moroccan".
Considered by critics as one of the best rappers on the Italian scene, he made his debut in 2005 with the self-produced mixtape Roccia Music I, which saw the participation of the collective Dogo Gang and other artists belonging to the Italian hip hop scene. The mixtape got a significant response in the underground hip hop scene and led him to the signing of a record deal with Universal Music Group, with which in 2008 he released his first solo album, the homonymous Marracash.
In 2013 he founded together with the producer Shablo the independent record label Roccia Music, which involved established and emerging figures of Italian hip hop, including rappers, producers and DJs.
