Irama
The real name of the winner of 'Amici 17' is Filippo Maria Fanti.
Born in Carrara on December 20, 1995, he grew up in Monza with his parents and sister.
Irama, his stage name, means 'rhythm' in the Malay language, but not only is it also the anagram of his middle name: (Maria = Irama).
His music is a combination of multiple genres and also has influences from the street world.
He started writing songs at the age of 7, listening to Italian singer-songwriters such as Fabrizio De André, Lucio Battisti and Francesco Guccini, then he approached hip-hop and rap.
In 2016 he participated in the Sanremo Festival in the New Proposals, but failed to reach the final. Around the same time he released his first album. Then in June he participated in the Coca Cola Summer Festival
where he won the Youth section with the song “Tornerai da me”. Lover of street music, he has always been interested in the music of Guccini and De Andrè since he was a child.
In 2016 he participates in Sanremo Giovani bringing the song "What will remain", but fails to reach the final, then at the Sanremo Festival 2019 with The girl with a tin heart.
He has an unbridled passion for tattoos, his arms are covered in snakes, the writing "Depp" on his neck,
Irama announces the release of the new song "Milano": the proceeds will be donated to the Niguarda Hospital on his knee, on the other hand, he has a tattoo depicting the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun, because he
loves the art of Ancient Egypt and on his hand he has the design of a rose.
His tattoos of him represent spiritual concepts in which he is very convinced: eg. intertwined snakes are a symbol of life and of the relationship between good and evil that dates back to the Egyptians.
He loves wearing eye-catching rings and feather-shaped earrings: at his home he has a picture with a frame completely covered in gold containing over 40 feathered earrings, he also called one of his discs "Plume".
Irama said:
“I like symbols: I have been carrying feathers inside since I was little, I don't really know why.
For me, the feather is my strength, my identity.
It's hard to explain, it's part of my identity.
It is something that is part of my person.
Without feathers I would not recognize myself today ".
He was romantically linked to Giulia De Lellis, a former competitor of 'Big Brother Vip' and chosen as 'Men and Women' by Andrea Damante.
In 2018 a curious fact of gossip: he would have flirted with 5 different girls at the same time!
On 27 March 2020 his new single 'Milano' was released with the participation of Sarcina, the frontman of Le Vibrazioni.
