HARLEY-DAVIDSON

The Harley-Davidson Motor Company is an American motorcycle manufacturer founded in Milwaukee in 1903.

In 1901, work began when two twenty-year-old childhood friends William Silvester Harley and Arthur Davidson, assembling an engine they had built on a bicycle, created a working prototype of a motorized bicycle.

This first prototype was a disaster due to the abundant oil leaks and the strong vibrations released on the bicycle frame which was not strong enough to support the weight and vibrations of the engine.



Harley-Davidson was officially founded on August 28, 1903, and the start of series production can officially be traced back to this date. In 1904 the first concessionaire was opened.

In 1906 the first real production plant was built, located in Chestnut Street (now Juneau Avenue), where the headquarters of the House are still located today.

Then overcoming events such as the world wars and the Great Depression, we arrive at the year 2019, in which the first electric Harley Davidson was presented: the Harley Davidson LiveWire.
With this, Harley set a new world record in 2020.
