"Ferragosto" August 15th
Mid-August is the most awaited day of the summer!
In the city as at the sea, there is a desire to be together, share emotions and have fun!
Mid-August is one of those important dates that absolutely cannot go unnoticed.
The etymology comes from: "Feriae Augusti", a feast celebrated in ancient Rome; in honor of Augustus, which means the rest of Augustus, because it indicated the first part of the summer month dedicated to rest and celebrations, established in 18 BC. c.
The festivity fell on the first of August and rest extended for most of the month.
During the festivities, they organized racing of horses and other draft animals and the peasants would send their good wishes to the owners as a sign of good luck for the following harvests.
The feast of August 15 that we are aware of today was instituted later, when the latter was assimilated by the Catholic Church which instituted the feast of the Assumption of Mary.
In Riccione the appointment for the evening of August 14th with memorable events is undoubtedly unmissable!!!!
